Trinity Global Methodist Church of Charlotte Harbor is, in fact, the oldest church in Charlotte County and a designated historic landmark — including a marker in front of the church. After surviving numerous storms and challenges over the decades, a dedicated group of believers has repeatedly shown the fortitude to repair and renovate, including recovery from recent flooding.
Where most would have leveled the remains and moved on, Trinity's congregation joined hands and rebuilt — into the warm worship and fellowship community you will experience today.
During the recent split of the Methodist church, the congregation chose to align with the Global Methodist Church, which they believe remains true to the Bible as the inspired Word of God — which they proclaim each and every Sunday.
The Methodist movement began in the early 18th century when John Wesley and others formed organized Christian societies. The earliest gatherings were the "Holy Club" at Oxford University, beginning around 1729.
Wesley's ministry grew rapidly following his conversion on May 24, 1738, when he famously described feeling "strangely warmed" at Aldersgate Street. From that point, he organized a network of class meetings, bands, and societies to promote disciplined Christian living, Bible study, and social outreach.
Over the years the Methodist Church experienced many growing pains. Most recently, a schism — primarily over questions of biblical authority and LGBTQ+ issues — led to widespread disaffiliation and the formation of the Global Methodist Church. The General Conference met in 2024 and approved the split.
The Global Methodist Church was born from the desire to maintain the authority of Scripture and historic Christian orthodoxy. Since its launch in May 2022, the Global Methodist Church has grown to over 7,000 churches worldwide.
Trinity Global Methodist's core beliefs align with the Apostles' Creed and the historic Christian faith. Our spiritual goals are expressed in our mission statement:
"Making disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly."
Pastor Danny puts it simply: "The mission statement identifies my ambition for the church — to focus on helping ourselves and others to grow in Jesus."
Our worship is classified as Traditional — featuring hymns of old, consistent prayer, scripture-based sermons, and fellowship time after service. But traditional does not mean stale. We present an inclusive, Spirit-filled worship program with modern flair, special music, and fresh ideas every week.
Our goal is to CONNECT with God — through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit — in prayer, in worship, and in the practice of spiritual disciplines.
John 14:6 — Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Sunday School with Pastor Danny begins at 8:45 AM and runs until approximately 9:45 AM. (Summer break June – August.)
Sunday Worship begins at 10:00 AM and runs approximately one hour.
Worship is followed by a Fellowship Time with refreshments in our fellowship hall behind the sanctuary — a warm opportunity to meet the congregation and one another.
All services are live-streamed and archived for those who cannot attend in person.
Communion is offered on the first Sunday of the month and on other special occasions throughout the year. We believe it to be one of the most important sacraments of our faith.
John Wesley, founder of Methodism, emphasized Holy Communion as a means of grace and a direct command from Christ. All who know our Savior are welcome at our table.
Prayer requests may be submitted during the worship service using the orange card found in the pocket behind the pews. Simply fill it out and place it in the offering.

Dress is informal but reasonable. Worship in comfort while remembering that you are in God's house. As the saying goes, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness."

Yes — Trinity Global offers plentiful parking on Seneca Ave., right next to the church, with a short walking distance to both the sanctuary and the fellowship hall. A covered walkway canopy provides protection from the Florida sun and rain.
Yes. Trinity Global is handicap accessible, with accessible entrances to the church sanctuary and to the rear of the fellowship hall. Our location is finder-friendly — just off Rt. 41, a short distance north of the bridge into Punta Gorda.
